How to change fonts

If you don’t like the font in the template, you can easily change it.
In this tutorial we’re working with the font “Poppins”, but you can choose any font you like.

Load the font

  1. Go to Google Fonts and find a font you like.
  2. Open it and find the style/styles you want to use.
  3. In a new window, open your Blogger Dashboard and select “Theme” from the left menu.
  4. Locate the orange button “Customize” and click on the arrow next to it. From the drop-down menu select “Edit HTML”.
  5. On the fifth or sixth line in the HTML code you should see:
    <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=
  6. After this are the fonts used in the template. Find the last font (it’s before the quotation mark) and paste |.
  7. Write the name of the font you want to use. If it consists of more than one word, instead of space, add the plus sign; like: Open+Sans, Dela+Gothic+One, PT+Sans+Narrow and so on.
  8. After the name, add the colon sign → :
  9. Add the numbers for the style you want to use — like 200, 300i and so on. Divide them with a comma.
  10. Your final code should look like this:
    <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=DM+Sans:400,700|Poppins:200,300i,800' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'/>
  11. Save the template!

Edit the CSS

  1. Go to “Theme” and click on “Edit HTML”.
  2. Find the section you want to edit — to edit (first) search for (second):
    top menu → .menu-wrap
    header → .Header h1
    blog description → .description
    post title → .post-title
    post body → body
    sidebar headings → .sidebar-wrap h2
  3. Find the line that contains font-family. If it’s not in this section, you may have to press ENTER and keep looking.
  4. Change the font into the font you chose.
  5. Under font-family is font-weight → change this number to the number of the style you chose.
  6. If you chose a style in cursive, add this into a new line → font-style: italic;.
  7. Save the template!
